Nathan Hochman has dedicated his career to making Los Angeles County a safer, more equitable, and vibrant place to live. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Nathan's deep connection to the community drives his commitment to public service and justice.

Nathan’s extensive experience as a prosecutor and defense attorney uniquely positions him to address Los Angeles County’s most pressing issues. After graduating magna cum laude from Brown University and earning his law degree from Stanford Law School, Nathan served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California. There, he prosecuted violent criminals, corrupt officials, and environmental polluters, ensuring justice for all while safeguarding our communities.

Under the current District Attorney, Los Angeles County has seen a troubling rise in property crimes, with car thefts, home burglaries, and smash-and-grab robberies becoming increasingly common. Unlike George Gascón, Nathan will hold these criminals accountable, protecting our neighborhoods and small businesses. He will ensure that those involved in organized crime rings are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and will collaborate with Mayor Karen Bass’s Organized Retail Crime Task Force to end these threats that have plagued our county for years.

Nathan understands the urgent need for compassionate solutions to homelessness. That’s why he is committed to addressing this crisis with both empathy and common sense. He believes in providing necessary support and treatment to those in need while ensuring our public spaces remain safe and clean for everyone. Nathan’s balanced approach aims to create long-term, sustainable solutions that benefit all residents of Los Angeles County.

With gun violence impacting thousands of families per year in Los Angeles County, Nathan is dedicated to ensuring that the most violent criminals receive the longest sentences allowable under the law. He will enforce strict penalties for those who use guns or other deadly weapons, ending policies that prematurely release dangerous individuals back into our communities.

Nathan's commitment to community service goes beyond his professional achievements. He has served on the boards of numerous charitable organizations, including Cedars Sinai Medical Center and the American Jewish University. Through the American Wheelchair Mission, Nathan and his family have delivered over 1,000 wheelchairs to those in need across four continents, embodying his dedication to humanitarian efforts.
